Products from Capral Aluminium were specified by the architect during the renovation of a home located in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Designed by Nettle Architects with Wayne Spencer as the engineer, the house features Capral AGS aluminium framing and Capral AGS 900 sliding door, both in a clear anodised finish.

With the design objective being to bring the house into the twenty-first century, architect Wendy Nettle successfully merged contemporary features with elements of an earlier vintage in the ambitious renovation project.

A standout feature is the geometric ceiling floating above Capral AGS aluminium framing, allowing for winter sunlight to flood the room and providing a bright outlook in summer, while minimising solar gain and thermal mass in the polished concrete floor.

Almost every room in the front of the house has a view to the rear of the house, with some views going all the way through to the external decks and verandas. New doorways have been made higher, with new full-height Capral AGS 900 sliding doors.

The renovation project uses materials, textures and colours to emphasise visual continuity throughout the house.
