La Escandella Ceramica, a premium European-style terracotta roof tile range by Bristile Roofing was presented at Grand Designs Live held recently at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Grand Designs Live is an award winning exhibition styled as the definitive consumer event for design-savvy people passionate about all aspects of home design, decoration and renovation. The show is an official extension of the hugely successful international television program Grand Designs, which follows the progress of home builders in pursuit of architectural excellence.

Now in its third year, the Sydney event has positioned itself as one of Australia’s most dynamic and innovative home design expos, offering a comprehensive showcase of premium building, interior, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor products to inspire visitors to create their own ‘grand design’. The three-day event was officially opened by Grand Designs Australia host Peter Maddison as well as a number of Foxtel Lifestyle Channel personalities including the Selling Houses Australia team.

The exhibition attracted around 20,000 visitors during the course of the event, from general home conscious consumers to renovation enthusiasts, designers, builders and architects.

The Grand Designs Live event also featured presentations by Selling Houses Australia hosts Shaynna Blaze and Andrew Winter, the host of Grand Designs UK Kevin McCloud and Peter Maddison on an array of topics at the popular Grand Theatre.

The Bristile Roofing stand drew throngs of visitors eager to check out the beautifully displayed La Escandella Ceramica terracotta roof tiles.

The Visum and Grande ranges proved immensely popular, with their classic elegance and sharp, clean lines offering a sophisticated, enduring look to complement Sydney’s historic buildings and federation homes.

The sleek, refined Planum tile impressed visitors, particularly in the contemporary new colours of Oyster, Caviar, Cocoa and Pepper, launched earlier this year. Visitors also appreciated the tile’s innovative design and size, which makes them faster and easier to install, significantly reducing time and costs associated with installation.

With growing importance placed on sustainability and the environment, green building design was a key focus for the show. Experts were on hand at the Sustainable Building Stage presenting information on state-of-the-art technologies and eco-friendly building practices, while the Bristile Roofing team offered tips and advice on reducing energy usage in building projects by utilising the principles of passive design.

The team also informed visitors about the environmental benefits of building with terracotta tiles including their thermal mass properties, which enable the material to store warmth and stabilise internal temperature fluctuations, ultimately reducing the need for artificial heating and cooling.
