An open square rail system for timber by Brio was recently used in a refurbishment project for the University of South Australia’s Industrial Design department.

Designed by Swanbury Penglase Architects, the refurbishment included the installation of dual purpose panels that would be used as room dividers and project display boards. The exposed bearings and heavy duty hardware provided the commercial look desired by the architect. Sixteen open rail panels and tracks in several clusters were used to achieve the desired effect.

Brio’s face fix hangers made from 304 stainless steel are designed to suit any contemporary interior and can support panels weighing 150kg at 2m wide. The open square rail systems are also available in brushed stainless steel and in PVD Black for a standout appearance.

Multiple guide options allow these large panels to operate with or without a floor channel, facilitating uninterrupted flooring in the interior design plan.
