The InterContinental Sydney Double Bay, Sydney's 5-star celebrity
hotspot has undergone extensive renovations and is now open for guests after a
five-year hiatus.
The InterContinental boasts 140 rooms, including 15 suites, with most
opening out onto private balconies that offer sweeping views of Double Bay.
Brintons has supplied carpets for the guest rooms, reception and dining
areas in sleek, modern geometric designs.
Previously the Ritz Carlton, the hotel had hosted celebrities from
around the world including Princess Diana, Sir Elton John, Madonna, Bill
Clinton and INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.
A blend of contemporary design and beautifully reinstated features, the
newly opened InterContinental Sydney Double Bay has been extensively renovated
from the nineties style of the Ritz Carlton, but still retains some of the
original features including the Italian white marble throughout the hotel and
the grey-green marble fireplaces. A grand piano in the exclusive Stillery gin
bar has also been restored.
