Leading Australian LED lighting company Brilliant Lighting (Aust) forecasts
that simple Scandinavian design will trend in interiors and lighting in 2015. The
company has recently released an affordable range of on-trend decorative
pendants inspired by the simplicity of Nordic design and a pared back Japanese
aesthetic.
Interior designer and trend forecaster Bree Leech says the Scandinavian
look can be easily recreated at home using a few key elements. Ms Leech
explains that the simple Scandi look combines graphic geometry and clean lines with
organic and relaxed finishes. The look may occasionally take on an industrial
edge, but the final effect is always clean and modern.
Key elements of the Scandi look include use of materials such as paper,
pale unfinished timber and matt black metal; simple, limited palettes, often in
neutral, charcoal, black and white with a pop of colour in detail, such as a
lamp cord; and modern twists using pastels such as on-trend pink.
The Scandi look can be complemented with simple, contemporary designs
from the Brilliant Lighting range such as large industrial pendants or timber
balanced-arm lamp bases with black or white shades; options such as single
colour or timber finish graphic geometric designs featuring shards, facets,
cubes or polygons can also be considered.
An innovator in domestic lighting, Brilliant Lighting is one of the
largest and most respected names in the Australian lighting industry with a
range of more than 1500 products. The company’s designers study trends around
the world to develop their forecast, including product and design innovation,
colour and finish.
Brilliant Lighting Interior Product Manager, Jacqueline Hughes says the
Gian floor lamp with its timber tripod base and white painted detail makes a
soft, fresh addition to a Scandi-inspired room. Among pendants, Ms Hughes
recommends the big, bold, industrial style Hugo pendants featuring a soft
chalky finish for a kitchen or dining room, or the Matrix, which adds a modern
twist with its strong geometric design.
Brilliant Lighting also offers the Pix range of table lamps and floor
lamps featuring an angle-poise style with timber arm and exposed fabric cord.
All Brilliant Lighting products come with a 12-month warranty and use
the latest LED technology, offering up to 25,000 hours of performance and
delivering power savings of up to 80 per cent compared with incandescent
globes.
The new decorative pendants from Brilliant Lighting are available
exclusively at Bunnings Australia.
