The Elanora Uniting Care Aged Care Facility in Shellharbour is home to up to 100 residents, offering all the amenities and modern conveniences in a stylish and spacious environment.

Materials used in the construction met the project objective of environmental sustainability. The application of James Hardie Matrix fibre cement cladding not only ensured a sleek contemporary finish but also provided the advantages of optimal thermal mass and energy efficiency.

Additionally, Big River supplied formwork and several other building materials (such as Truform LVL, timber mouldings and structural plywood) customised for the project.

Designed by Calder Flower Architects Pty Ltd with construction management by Grindley Construction, the 100-room aged care accommodation offers low and high level permanent and respite care; communal spaces such as lounge areas, dining and activity rooms and guest visiting areas; and a café, hair salon and library.

Big River products used in the project included Scyon Matrix Fibre Cement Cladding, Finger Jointed Architrave, Custom Internal Finger Jointed Pine Skirting, Custom Victorian Ash Handrail, Armourform Formply, and Truform LVL.
