Bent and Curved Glass (BCG) manufactured and supplied large format curved glass panels for a high-end residential project in Waverley, Sydney.

Located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, the Waverley Residence project was designed by C plus C Architectural Workshop. Close collaboration between the architects, glass manufacturer Bent and Curved Glass, and frame fabricator and installation contractor AVS Windows and Doors, ensured excellent design outcomes for the upmarket project.

This early consultation followed by a process of glass sampling, review and selection, allowed for a clearer understanding of the design intent, leading to the successful resolution of the architectural detailing and functional performance of the glazing systems incorporated in the project.

BCG manufactured large format curved glass panels measuring up to 2400mm H x 3500mm W in various glass types to meet the various design requirements for thermal performance, privacy and night lighting effects while also maximising natural light and a sense of space and openness.

The Bent and Curved Glass team rose to the challenge of achieving exacting dimensional accuracy and optical quality in oversized curved glass panels for a range of applications from timber and aluminium framed sliding doors, fixed frameless facade glazing, internal screens and curved double glazing to the walk-in wine cellar.

The high quality of these glass elements made a significant contribution to the success of this exceptional project, which won the award for “The Best Use of Glass in a Residential Project”, in both the 2017 NSW and National Glass and Glazing Association Awards.
