The Tasman block retaining wall system from Baines Masonry Blocks is a premium retaining wall product designed and manufactured for Australian conditions. Ideal for building near-vertical and very high retaining walls, the premium Tasman blocks are manufactured at Baines Masonry’s Appin, NSW site.

The Tasman retaining wall system comes with a natural rock face finish and in a range of colours; the block’s purpose made corner and capping units ensure a beautifully finished landscape solution.

Tasman’s Segmental Retaining Wall System (SRWS) is suitable for constructing strong and durable walls for residential and commercial projects. The split face and natural colourways offer a texture and tone that will complement the Australian landscape and add beauty, value and functionality to your property. The Tasman SRW system has been extensively tested, performing well both in the lab and in the field.

Tasman block retaining wall systems deliver a range of benefits including near-vertical walls; DIY quality retaining walls; wide choice of natural colours; positive connections requiring no pins or plastic connectors; and snug-fitting connections that limit movement when correctly installed.

Concrete footings are not required to install Tasman block retaining wall systems. Tasman is suitable for right-angled corners, steps, straight or curved walls. The blocks are manufactured with a water repellent admixture to add to their quality.

The Tasman retaining wall system incorporates a purpose made corner and capping units to achieve a classic sandstone retaining wall appearance. The unique design allows increased flexibility over other retaining wall systems as it allows near-vertical walls to curve or have 90-degree corners. The blocks are easily dry-stacked and their patented design ensures that the block below locks into the block above with a minimal 10mm setback to form an attractive structural retaining wall. The capping unit is adhered to the top course of blocks to finish off the wall.

Tasman’s SRWS allows straight retaining walls to be constructed up to 660mm high (three courses and one cap) and serpentine retaining walls up to 860mm high (four courses and one cap). If you are planning to use Tasman blocks to support higher embankments, you should consult your local council on their compliance requirements, or seek the advice of a competent civil or structural engineer. Walls should comply with the Australian Standard AS4678 Earth Retaining Structures.

Baines Masonry is the Australian distributor of SRW Products for segmental retaining walls, geo fabrics to aid in filtering fines away from drainage material, geogrid for soil stabilisation and reinforcement, and a range of sealers and cleaners.
