Axalta Coating Systems drew the attention of visitors at the SEMA 2015 tradeshow recently with its ‘Engineered for Speed’ exhibit featuring several demos, an interactive spray booth and an award-winning car display.
The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) tradeshow saw Axalta proudly displaying award-winning cars including the winner of the Goodguys 2015 Classic Instruments Street Machine of the Year award – Sonny and Debbie Freeman’s 1967 Corvette, which was built by Mike Goldman, and Gil Losi’s 1956 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible – Ridler Award finalist, Goodguys Custom Rod of the Year and winner of the cover position on Axalta’s 2016 Custom Finishes Calendar.
A leading global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, Axalta Coating Systems demonstrated the fast-drying quality of its coatings in the Axalta Engineered for Speed outdoor area where it teamed up with Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) to integrate REVO infrared technology into live collision repairs that were completed in just over 30 minutes in a fully functional spray booth.
The Axalta outdoor area also featured cutting-edge paint demos, amazing artists creating custom masterpieces as well as an opportunity for visitors to actually suit up and spray Cromax Pro waterborne basecoat in a GFS Ultra XD semi-downdraft spray booth. Visitors were invited to speak with Axalta’s technical experts about the products or head to Axalta’s inside booth for autograph signing sessions, pin striping demonstrations and much more.
Observing that the annual SEMA show was an important event for the company, Axalta Refinish Marketing Director Matt Robertson said that attendees to their exhibition area found their activities, cars, celebrities, content and events to be both interesting and informative.
