AVD Australia  and QualiFi announce the Philips Pronto Solution for Sonos, a method of interfacing a Sonos digital music system to a Philips Pronto TSU9600 touch screen.

This follows months of research and hard work by AVD and Qualify Systems Technicians, who have finally managed to devise a 2-way ‘plug-in’ solution for the Pronto remote control and Sonos multi room audio system.

According to Sandy Howard, Managing Director, AVD Australia, the Philips Pronto Solution will change the face of home entertainment and integration world wide as it is the missing link between two dominating products in the market.

The Philips Pronto Solution will initially be available in the following configurations:

  • 1 Pronto + 1 Sonos Zone
  • 4 Prontos + 4 Sonos Zones
  • 8 Prontos + 8 Sonos Zones

All solutions require a Philips Pronto TSU9600 and fully operational Sonos system in the appropriate configuration. It is then required to load the Pronto GUI model and connect the provided processor to the network. The Philips Pronto Solutions will be available from October 2008.

The currently supported functions in the Philips Pronto Solution that have both status and control features are:

  • Music selection
  • Music browsing by artist only

  • Shuffle and repeat
  • Zones and linking of zones
  • Play, pause, FFW etc
  • Current track, album and artist

  • Queue and queue editing

The control feature is not applicable in some of the functions in the Philips Pronto Solution. It includes:
