According to Australian Polycarbonate Products , Danpalon Multicell panels were developed on the basis of the successful Danpalon DP16 Multicell, a unique translucent panel. The company says that the Danpalon DP16 Multicell enjoys the recognition of architects and experts in natural lighting systems all over the world. The DP16 Multicell features improved rigidity and superior thermal insulation.

The Danpalon system consists of extruded translucent panels, with a vertical standing seam at both sides of the panels; a snap-on connector interlocking the panels; and concealed stainless steel retention clips. The fully assembled system is free floating. Each component is free to thermally expand or contract at its own rate, eliminating ‘waves’ or deflections and maintaining the structural properties of the material.

Danpal is the manufacturer of the Danpalon Multicell polycarbonate sheet, which offers technical advantages including higher quality diffused daylight transmission; natural reflectivity to create a comfortable internal ambience; significantly improved thermal insulation; enhanced impact and hail resistance; extended ultra violet protection layer; and improved mechanical properties and rigidity. The Multicell structure transmits an even diffusion of natural light, producing a rich look similar to glass. The product has been particularly designed for architectural daylight applications, and the tight spacing between the ribs produces a superior quality of light.
