Kayt Watts has been appointed Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Building (AIB).

Kayt has a strong background in marketing and management and has extensive experience in steering and managing membership-based organisations. She has managed the growth of a number of businesses and associations, working closely with boards, members and staff to develop and revitalise their functional and financial operations.

Kayt has been closely associated with the building industry all her life. Her grandfather, F.O. Watts, helped establish E. A. Watts Pty Ltd, a prominent Victorian construction company, and was one of the founding members of the AIB. Her father and other family members active in the building industry, have been involved in the AIB for many years.

The AIB is an association of professionals, associate professionals and technicians who contribute to the development of the built environment. As a learned society and qualifying organisation, the Institute encourages high professional standards through its membership admission requirements, code of ethics, rules of professional conduct and continuing professional development programs.
