Australian Disabled Access Consultants  was recently invited by the Boffa Robertson Group of Chatswood to provide a fee proposal for disabled access building design assessment consultancy services for a 4-storey residential aged care facility in Redfern by Mission Australia.

They offered disabled access assessment work to assess compliance with City of Sydney Council’s Access Development Control Plan guidelines, Part D3 of the Building of Australia standards, and Australian Standards AS1428.1 and AS2890.1 disabled access, wheelchair access and parking guidelines.

The Boffa Robertson Group designed the building so that it provided disabled and wheelchair access within all publicly accessible parts of the building for: 

  • Continuous safe paths of travel within the building and parking area 
  • Building entries 
  • Doorways, doors, doorway widths and circulation spaces, door handles and hardware 
  • Wheelchair access and wheelchair passing bays 
  • Accessible toilets and combined sanitary facilities
