The refurbishment and upgrade to the Canterbury RSL Club aimed to improve flexibility for the venue’s gaming requirements.

Completed over eight stages in 2018, the upgrade work by MPA Projects Pty Ltd included the introduction of underfloor air-conditioning to associated areas covering 2,100 square metres.

For the access floor solution, a new steel cementitious Ultrafix stringerless system was installed with a 9.0kN loading at a combined 120 and 500mm FFH, with S1/S2 and S5/S6 pedestals.

The club refurbishment would allow for open plan flexibility, enabling relocation of gaming equipment. Different floor requirements were introduced for the installation of underfloor air-conditioning to associated areas to meet the current Green Star and club requirements.

Being a 9.0kN panel, the floor provides added strength for gaming equipment to be moved freely without requiring more protection.
