An acoustic wall system from ASKIN Performance Panels was installed at Victoria’s Rosanna Train Station to minimise transmission of railway traffic noise to the neighbouring residential apartments.
Part of the $395 million Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade, the train station was built following the removal of the Rosanna Station level crossing. The new station features elevated platforms and improved facilities.
Since the new railway platform was built adjacent to residential apartments, it required an acoustic wall to minimise the noise from railway traffic. The solution also needed to be a non-combustible cladding system, given the station’s close proximity to the multi-residential development. Noise regulations mandated that the panel component of the wall system required a minimum Rw rating of 31.
Additionally, the wall needed to visually blend in with the existing feature screening used throughout the train station’s design.

ASKIN ViviD came with a custom designed multi-coloured rib system to attach to the Volcore panel to match the existing screening and roofing profile without impacting the acoustic performance of the panels.
