Perforated metal is highly preferred by architects and designers involved in education projects, with the material used in the form of building facades to shield students from sun glare, or as strong and durable balustrades to keep students safe on stairs and balconies.

Perforated metal is one of the most common metal materials found in public and private schools. Here’s how Arrow Metal Systems can help if you’re looking for perforated metal for schools and education projects.

Perforated metal for schools: St Ursula’s College

Arrow Metal supplied perforated metal to ABC Fabrications and Balustrades for St Ursula’s College in Sydney. Perforated 3mm aluminium panels in a round classic design were used as balustrade throughout the school’s new campus. Safe, sturdy and stylish, the new balustrade is perfectly suited to the challenging demands of a large, dynamic and modern school.

Perforated metal for universities: University of Newcastle

Perforated metal panels were supplied for a unique application at the University of Newcastle’s landmark $95m NeW Space education precinct.

Produced for project partners JML Engineered Facades, Arrow Metal perforated over 400 individual metal panels to form the metal learning booths on the exterior of the building. Pattern 376, a standard perforation profile that met the required wind tunnel testing criteria, was recommended to address the wind resistance factor. This resulted in reducing both noise and vibration, enhancing student comfort, despite the windy conditions of the area.
