Leading industry expert Patrick McInerney from the Australian Government’s Department of the Environment and Energy will speak on the subject of the HFC phasedown during the Speaker Series at ARBS 2018.

Patrick McInerney’s presentation will cover international and Australian policy changes that will affect the Australian refrigeration and air conditioning industry, including the phasedown of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which will commence in January 2018 as well as the global HFC phasedown, which starts in 2019.

The hydrofluorocarbon or HFC phasedown describes the gradual reduction in the maximum amount of bulk HFCs permitted to be imported into Australia, beginning in January 2018. This will be managed through a quota system on imports.

The Speaker Series will run concurrently with ARBS 2018, Australia’s only international air conditioning, refrigeration and building services trade exhibition, which will be held at the new International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney from 8-10 May 2018.
