Aodeli worked with fellow Queensland partner, Cladding Creations to supply solid aluminium panels (SAP) in 11 custom-matched finishes for the exterior facade of the iconic HOTA Gallery on the Gold Coast.

The 3D Voronoi cellular structure as designed by ARM Architecture has been recreated in aluminium panels to deliver a striking look in vibrant colour. The 5,500m² construction, which opened in May 2021, is set to become one of Australia’s largest regional galleries. The distinctive and original design is truly worthy of this accolade.

The complex installation required Aodeli and Cladding Creations to develop a delivery plan that would ensure only the required panels were on site at any given time.

“This has been a special project for me and all of the team at Aodeli. We may supply our cladding products nationwide but being involved with such an amazing project on the doorstep of our head office that we could see progressing daily was a unique experience. We could not be happier with how our products have achieved the design worthy of a landmark project such as this,” commented Aodeli general manager, Wayne Saunders.

Constructed by Hansen Yuncken, the $63 million project is the largest public gallery in regional Australia. The building will be home to Queensland’s 4,400-piece collection including many Aboriginal and Torres Strait island artworks as well as a dedicated Children’s Gallery.
