Ambius and their new range of indoor rainforest plants are directly involved with Rainforest Rescue, particularly supporting their work to protect the Daintree Rainforest in far north Queensland.

Ambius is the new name for Rentokil Tropical Plants, Australia, and a leading provider of indoor plants, silk floral arrangements and interior artwork for commercial environments.

Ambius are conscious of raising awareness about the importance of air quality and to highlight the issue of indoor air quality and to support Rainforest Rescue, have released a range of Australian indoor rainforest plants, including Castenospermum asutrale (Blackbean), Licuala ramsayii (Fan Palm), Schefflera actinophylla (Umbrella tree) and Agatha robusta (Kauri Pine). All were selected for their capabilities to survive well in an indoor environment.

To reinforce their commitment to Australian rainforests, Ambius make a contribution to Rainforest Rescue every time a customer selects plants from the indoor rainforest plants range. These contributions will help to protect rainforests in Australia’s Daintree area in North Queensland, and help create wildlife corridors for fauna.

According to Anne Briggs, global research confirms that indoor plants remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the air indoors, among their other benefits.

Professor Margaret Burchett from University of Technology, Sydney, said that their studies have demonstrated that the plants can reduce and suppress VOCs to negligible levels, reduce carbon dioxide by up to 25% and carbon monoxide by up to 90%.

The Green Building Council of Australia also recognises the role of indoor plants, and now awards two points towards green star ratings for indoor plant installations.
