Altro Orchestra was the preferred flooring choice for the remodelled teachers’ room at the Camilo José Cela University in Spain.
One of the most prestigious Spanish private universities, Camilo José Cela University (UCJC) was founded in Madrid in 2000, with its Campus Central, Madrid-Villafranca occupying more than 100,000 square metres of space.
The faculty room of the UCJC was recently remodelled, which also included the installation of new flooring. To meet the requirements for a resilient and decorative floor with good acoustic properties, Altro Orchestra was selected to replace the old floor. The light beige colour chosen for the project helped create a unified bright space, with comfort underfoot and 15dB impact sound insulation.
Miguel Ángel Fernández from the installation company AFER explains: “It has been a challenging job because of the size of the space, where 840 square metres of Altro Orchestra was installed. The existing floors were of various kinds and it was necessary to apply smoothing paste on the whole surface so that the base was completely flat. We are happy with the work done; the floor has been perfect and the product meets all expectations of the customer.”
