Glass panels need to be handled safely in manufacturing plants to avoid breakage or injury. Allplastics Engineering offers a solution that allows easy sliding of glass panels, minimising the hazard.

Allplastics recently offered Evolution Windows custom made black, high density polyethylene panels with CNC routed grooves. These polyethylene panels not only eliminate the problem of glass sheets hitting each other but also promote the sliding of glass panels in and out of storage.

Allplastics’ grooved polyethylene panels can even be used in acrylic and polycarbonate sheet plants.

High density polyethylene or HDPE delivers multiple advantages with its exceptional sliding properties, good chemical resistance, easy machinability, light weight and cost-effectiveness. HDPE is also weldable, has very high surface release properties, does not absorb water, is non-toxic and self-lubricating, and has very low coefficient of friction in addition to very good dampening properties.

HDPE is supplied in various grades to suit specific conditions and applications. Being recyclable, the sheets are also available in recycled graded material if required.

HDPE can be used to fabricate food grade cutting boards (natural); parts subjected to high impact stresses; conveyor parts subject to wear and requiring low friction; components used in food processing; pads for transport and infrastructure; wear strips; feeding troughs and feed bins in agriculture; flanged bushes for marine environments; non-stick rollers; and custom tanks. The material is also used for timber replacement and flow promotion.
