Aconex , providers of online collaboration solutions to the construction and engineering industries, have secured a global agreement with international power firm ContourGlobal. ContourGlobal will use the Aconex system across thirty businesses operating on four continents.

Aconex provide a web-based platform for managing project information such as drawings, documents and correspondence. Through using the system, ContourGlobal and their project partners will be able to view, track and share their files in real time, from any location and at any time.

ContourGlobal develop, acquire and operate electric power, combined heat and power, and district heating businesses. Their operations are located in Europe, including in the United Kingdom, Italy, Ukraine and Greece; in Africa, including in Togo, Nigeria and Rwanda; as well as in Brazil, Columbia and the United States.

Bill Fox, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Construction for ContourGlobal, said: “Each of our projects generates thousands of documents which must be exchanged between internal and external parties.”

“Because team members are often geographically dispersed, we needed a central system that could securely manage our documentation whilst ensuring it was still easily accessible to project participants. Aconex offered the best system for our needs as well as extensive expertise in delivering its service to complex, multinational-based projects.”

Leigh Jasper, Aconex Chief Executive Officer, said: “The success of firms such as ContourGlobal with cross-border projects is based upon the real-time management and integration of multiple communication and information streams.”

“Aconex will help ContourGlobal to organize and optimize this information by providing a secure, electronic archive of all project data and a verifiable history of every transaction.”

Aconex services $210 billion worth of projects across 66 countries. Its clients include AECOM, Arcadis, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Las Vegas Sands and McDonald’s Restaurants.
