Abbix Industries has launched a new range of outdoor decking that is durable, UV stable and maintenance-free.

Stronger than steel and lighter than aluminium, the new diamond deck not only looks great but is also made in Western Australia.

Made from a unique, super strength fibre reinforcement that allows a massive 900mm span between joists, compared to 400 - 450mm for traditional wood and composite decks, the diamond deck outdoor decking never needs to be oiled or painted, while fats and oils from BBQs can be wiped clean with detergent and water.

One of the ABC’s Soil Sisters, Andrea Whitely, is a proud owner of a diamond deck. Andrea explains that she chose diamond deck for her home because it’s a local decking product with a low carbon footprint, and durable. She adds that diamond deck eliminates concerns about staining or colour fading over time.

Abbix’s diamond deck comes in a range of colours, and suits a variety of commercial and residential designs with the added advantage of stain and spill resistant technology that ensures it looks as good as new, years from now.

Unlike traditional timber decking, diamond deck is 100% waterproof and can be installed at ground level on soil, sand, concrete or brick, providing greater options for designers and architects. The 900mm span allows savings of as much as 50% to be achieved on building the deck substructure in comparison to a traditional timber and composite decking.

Abbix Chairman Fraser Tonner comments that diamond deck does not absorb water, and can be used as pool decking with no swelling or warping. The outdoor decking comes with a 25-year structural warranty for extra peace of mind and quality assurance.

Abbix recently entered into a distribution agreement with M&B Sales, a supplier of quality building products in Perth and regional WA, to supply and install diamond deck across the State. M&B Sales Director Richard Price believes diamond deck would outperform other composite decks in the State’s tough environmental conditions.
