In particular, his extensive experience in providing urban design advice and as an expert witness at VCAT and Planning Panels Victoria, provides clients with practical, pragmatic and independent advice that achieves the best possible outcomes, says SJB.

“During my time at SJB, I’ve come to admire the depth of talent within the team as well as the studio’s significant legacy of quality design outcomes,” says Blades.

“I am excited to be taking a leadership role in the SJB Urban design team and look forward to helping shape the studio’s future urban design legacy.”

In announcing this promotion, SJB Director Amanda Roberts says the practice continues to address the challenges of urban development within a rapidly evolving context, the need to recognise and nurture future leaders is a crucial factor in the practice’s continued success.

“I am excited about the talent and experience that Brodie brings to the practice and look forward to the new leadership team building on past successes and expanding the business into 2019 and beyond.”
