Technē Architecture + Interior Design have announced that long-time interior designer Bianca Baldi has been promoted to Associate, with a decorated portfolio already under her belt.

Beginning her career with Technē as an undergraduate in 2010, Baldi now boasts more than ten years’ industry experience, with her work spanning a variety of sectors including hospitality, residential and commercial.

Technē director Nick Travers says the interior designer was a natural choice for promotion.

“Bianca has spent almost her entire professional career as part of the Technē team. Her promotion reflects her formidable design intelligence and enduring dedication to her craft,” he says.

“Since joining the Technē team in 2010, Bianca has developed robust industry knowledge and a proven ability to deliver exceptional design outcomes for a diverse portfolio of clients.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Bianca cultivate her creative scope and leadership skills over the years. Continually striving for excellence, Bianca is a valued member of the Technē team and we are delighted to see her take this next step within the business.”

Baldi’s hospitality portfolio includes some of Melbourne’s most prolific eateries and entertainment venues like Garden State Hotel, Maha Restaurant, Brunetti Flinders Lane and Tonka and most notable home interiors for Canning Street House.

“Technē has provided an incredible foundation for my career and shaped me into a strong, resilient and versatile designer,” Baldi says herself.

“My new position will allow me to take further creative direction in the interior arm of the business and continue to deliver on the Technē philosophy of enriching the human experience.

Baldi is currently building her own home, in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of construction processes that will only aid her within her new role.

At Technē, Baldi is currently leading the interior fit out for Fourdrinier House, a 19th century paper mill turned apartment complex at Yarra Bend, slated for completion late 2022.

The practice has been recognised for shaping the design of Melbourne’s top food and beverage destinations. Technē’s notable projects include The Espy in St Kilda, Brunetti Flinders Lane and the Prahran Hotel.
