The Association of Consulting Architects (ACA) is holding a roundtable in Adelaide on Thursday 28 September on how should architects respond to the use of non-conforming building products.

According to the ACA, aluminium composite cladding and non-conforming building products have been in the news for far too long and as such, separating fact from fiction when it comes to non-confirming building cladding is becoming harder and harder.

Speakers Wendy Poulton and Cos Cirocco from Planned Cover will provide an update on the state of investigations into the Lacrosse Building fire, and also consider the impact of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

This roundtable is an opportunity for architects to share their experiences as well as ask pertinent questions such as “What forms of proof of NCC compliance do you look for?”, “When do you bring in specialists?”, “How does novation or a ‘partial services’ engagement change your influence over product selection?” and “Are clients becoming more concerned about purchasing quality materials in the wake of these incidents?”

The ACA roundtable will be an opportunity for industry leaders to discuss issues, and also for them to hear a range of views.
