The Design Institute of Australia (DIA) introduces a new look Colourways colour forecasting service to meet the changing needs of the Australian design industry.

The DIA and Colourways bring together over 30 years of experience in colour forecasting, marketing and product development.

However, DIA has replaced the previous membership-based system for accessing the new Colourways model with a basic access subscription plus additional usage or product charges as required. The new Colourways business model is expected to deliver a wider range of partnership benefits, industry collaboration and development activities.

Colourways Manager Kim Chadwick explains that the new access model opens up the collaborative forum to a broader range of industries, technologies and research, and allows the results to be shared universally.

DIA National President James Harper FDIA said that partnerships are a cornerstone of the DIA association model. The alliance with manager Kim Chadwick and the new Colourways business model optimises the DIA’s ability to engage with buyer/supplier relationships and a broader range of design disciplines.

This year’s Colourways workshops will be held at Encore St Kilda on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th July. The new program will include an advanced materials workshop and focus on consensus-building activities to conceive a uniquely Australian colour and materials palette. Consideration will also be given to international trends that support products destined for export markets.

A new look Colourways mobile platform is to be launched along with a newsletter, colour deck and training materials for colour programs ready for use in the vocational education sector.

Colourways will also be a feature at Sydney designEX 2014 at the DIA stand 650.
