Aqua Oil was recently chosen by Williams Boag Architects to seal and colour plywood facades at their Elizabeth Street ‘walk ups’ project in Richmond, Victoria.

Onyx Gold Aqua Oil was used by the firm to create a colour congruency between the dramatic archway below and a contrast with the galvanised balustrades directly above.

Aquaoil is an easy to use, deeply penetrating oil finish that is water repellent, mildew resistant, high solids, UV blocked finish that penetrates into the timber binding the wood fibres together providing protection from moisture attack and preventing alternate swelling and shrinking that causes timber to crack, splinter and erode.

Aquaoil is designed for use on quality exterior timber such as Cedar, Cypress, Oregon, Treated Pine and all Texture Ply and Hardwoods.

The redeveloped ‘walk up’ buildings on Elizabeth Street, Richmond are the first completed part in a series of upgrades from Williams Boag Architects (WBa) which promise to transform the district’s housing estate into a benchmark affordable housing facility.
