A world-class line-up of speakers, an international BIM conference and a future of industry plenary are some of the highlights of the upcoming ICEC-PAQS 2018 conference in Sydney later this year.

The international conference, which will run from 18th November to 20th November at the ICC Sydney, will bring together construction cost professionals from around the globe for seminars and workshops with industry experts.

“The conference is designed to educate professionals towards a global construction industry that powers from precision. Construction cost professionals are critical thinkers who strive to provide their clients with accurate costings and funds management from pre-design to design to construction to operation to obsolescence,” says Anthony Mills, president, AIQS.

Top themes weaving through the Conference include new directions for quantity surveyors and cost estimators, cost management, innovation in construction, BIM, infrastructure, international law and standards, costs in sustainability, construction technology and innovation, industry relationships, global cost management, and project management.

The keynote speaker for the Conference is professor Genevieve Bell who will deliver a presentation on human interaction with technology and its impact on the management of projects. Professor Bell is the director of the 3A Institute, Florence Violet McKenzie chair, and a distinguished professor at the Australian National University (ANU) as well as a vice president and senior fellow at Intel Corporation.

The 3rd International QS BIM Conference will feature speakers delivering high point content across ten sessions.

The Future of Industry plenary will provide a platform for a generational debate between a collective of quantity surveyors (under age 35) and a history of quantity surveyors (over the age of 35).

Conference highlights also include treetop life in the concrete jungle, international construction measurement standards, and launch of the ANZIQS BIM Best Practice Guidelines.
