The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) announces a new webinar on the environmental benefits of building with sustainable timber.

To be held on 20 August, the webinar ‘Building a Case for Timber’ examines how building with timber stacks up for Green Star projects and the environment.

The webinar will be presented by Stephen Mitchell of WoodSolutions, who is an expert on Australia’s first industry-wide Environmental Product Declaration for sustainably-sourced timber.

Some of the topics to be covered at the webinar include the industry’s first Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Australian timber and wood products; how this EDP can help towards achieving a Green Star rating; and the companies already building with sustainable timber in Australia and internationally.

Stephen Mitchell has 19 years of experience in environmental management including the last nine years as the Sustainability Programme Manager with the Timber Development Association where he recently co-authored Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for Australian timber products.
