Fender Katsalidis is the architect of Yarra One, an apartment tower in South Yarra that is introducing Lifestyle One, an Australian-first apartment concierge service tailored to retirees and semi-retired individuals.

Partnering with a not-for-profit provider, the service aims to enrich residents’ lifestyles, giving them access to a range of services including home maintenance, home cleaning, dry cleaning, massage, pet walking/ maintenance services, and personal care.

“Lifestyle requirements are constantly evolving; we’re living longer, we’re healthier and we’ve worked hard throughout our career and now want to live an active low-maintenance lifestyle, one that isn’t tied down by house chores,” says EcoWorld International general manager Jeffrey Ong.

“With an ever-increasing expectation of what defines ‘luxury living’, there is a need in the market for apartments that provide the amenities and services of retirement living but instead, are located in the epicentre of activities such as South Yarra.”

Designing in line with Livable Housing Australia’s Gold-Star standard, the project will offer adaptable floor plans as another method of future-proofing the building, allowing the layout to conform to what the resident needs both now and into the future.

“The adaptable floor plan offering is about tailoring specific living requirements, patterns and habits into a liveable design right in Melbourne’s popular Yarra River corridor,” says Fender Katsalidis co-founder Karl Fender.

Yarra One will offer multi-generational living through a host of onsite amenities and partnerships targeted at first home-buyers, downsizers, young families, retirees and empty nesters.

It will also include residential coworking space situated across three floors of The Atrium, providing an integrated hub and an open workplace concept for all residents, particularly semi-retirees and freelancers.
