A number of major volume builders, including Sekisui House (owners of AV Jennings), Clarendon Homes and McCracken Homes, have signed up in advance to offer CSR’s Viridian SmartGlass.
According to Viridian several other major builders are close to reaching agreements to offer the range of four residential single glazed energy efficient glass options, produced to meet Australia’s climate conditions.
Viridian SmartGlass is so called for its smart ‘Low E’ active insulation technology, a thin yet durable coating fused to the glass which the company says offers up to 39 per cent better insulation performance than ordinary glass.
Sustainability Manager for Sekisui House, Luke Poliszcuk, says that inclusion of Viridian SmartGlass as a standard feature in their Aurora collection of energy efficient homes was important to meet growing consumer demand for affordable green housing.
