Four major regional land holdings with the potential to be master planned developments are being offered for sale in a tender campaign in central and north Queensland.

The properties in Townsville, Yeppoon and Hervey Bay were being sold under the instructions from the receivers and managers, Philip Campbell-Wilson and Justin Walsh, of Ernst & Young.

The largest site was the Keppel Views Estate at Yeppoon, a land holding of approximately 299ha just five minutes from the centre of the town on the central Queensland coast. Ray White Special Projects Queensland directors Mark Creevey said: "This property is a potential master planned development opportunity with an existing approval for 176 lots.”

The Hervey Bay holding is approximately 212ha and offers 1.9km of beachfront land just 6km from the centre of town.

Ray White’s Tony Williams said: "This strategic land holding is a potential master planned estate with a range of residential product.

"Development applications have previously been lodged for the property under a superseded planning scheme."

Williams said two properties in the Townsville area were part of the portfolio, the largest a site of approximately 255ha at Rasmussen, 17km south-west of the CBD.

"The property is next to the Riverway Gardens land estate and directly adjoins the 'Urban Growth Boundary', which is currently under review," he said. "It's presently designated Rural 10."

The remaining part of the portfolio is a 22ha property in the Wulguru area of Townsville which has panoramic views back to the Townsville CBD and is designated 'traditional residential'.

The four land holdings can be purchased collectively or individually. Tenders close at 4pm on Thursday, October 20.
