The Australian Window Association (AWA) Design Awards 2011 were held at the Australian Fenestration Conference earlier this year, recognising the efforts of manufacturers and suppliers to the fenestration industry to produce and promote innovative technology in windows and doors.

Various categories of achievement were recognised in the awards — residential and commercial, new construction and renovation, as well as best showroom, and the most innovative design in window systems and components.

NSW-based company Hanlon Windows won Best use of Windows & Doors in Commercial Renovation, for a new building at Nowra Anglican School which supplied the windows and doors. This project amalgamates under-utilised space in an existing building with a new two storey section of building providing space for the College’s book collection, activity, study, seminar, workroom and ancillary spaces for students and staff.
