GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens has thrown its support behind the new Youth Off The Streets facility located at 72 – 98 Staff Road, Cordeaux Heights

Formerly the old Keelong Juvenile Justice Centre, the building has been renovated into a brand new Youth Off the Streets Centre for that will provide an education facility and residential services to disadvantaged young people between the ages of 12 and 18 years

GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens assisted the project, offering a 50 per cent discount on kitchen and bathroom fixtures, which helped the charity save around $13,000 on the cost of their renovation.

GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens provided toilet suites, basins, sinks, tapware and accessories from the Caroma, Clark and Dorf brands.

Commenting on the project, Ms Fiona Robinson, Brand and Communications Manager for GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens said, “We are very keen to support the great work of Father Riley’s Youth Off The Streets charity. We hope that helping the charity with our building products will assist them in making a difference to the lives of the children in the program, by saving the charity more money to put towards other much needed resources.”

The Youth Off The Streets Cordeaux Heights Centre for Youth will have the capacity to provide services for up to 24 young people who will be able to access support services, educational and sporting facilities, a swimming pool and a dining hall served by a commercial-sized kitchen.

It will provide a safe and engaging environment for young people who may attend Craig Davis College, a registered and accredited high school; and/or who reside in the Barbara Holborow Bail Accommodation Service or the Aboriginal Residential Care Service.

Youth Off The Streets is a non-denominational community organization set up by Father Chris Riley, working for young people who are homeless, drug dependent and recovering from abuse.  It supports these young people as they work to turn their lives around and overcome immense personal traumas such as neglect and physical, psychological and emotional abuse.
