A range of leading edge sanitary fittings from Enware Australia was recently installed in the newly-completed redevelopment of the Albany Health Campus in Western Australia.

Designed as a hub for health services in the region, the $170 million health facility is modern and minimalistic in design as well as ecologically sustainable.

Given the emphasis on infection control and innovative design at the healthcare facility, Enware products such as IFO toilets and basins were chosen for the Albany Health Campus.

Enware Australia state manager WA Adam Sinclair explains that Enware IFO products were favoured by architects for their non-institutional appearance and smooth lines in addition to their space saving design, suitability for wet areas, and fulfilment of OH&S and infection control requirements.

Enware toilet suites come already assembled, resulting in significant time savings in plumbing. Sinclair adds that Enware’s selection reflects the company’s emphasis on innovation, high standards of production, and water and energy efficiencies.

Phil Woolhouse, Albany project manager at Cooke & Dowsett, the plumbing contractor for the hospital project, vouches for the installation ease and efficiency of the toilets as well as the hand basins.

Since the toilet units came completely assembled with the cisterns already bolted to the pans, their installation work was simplified and very quick, taking less than an hour each, instead of up to four hours each toilet might normally require. He was also surprised that the pre-assembled toilets did not suffer any damage in transit.

From a functional aspect, he says the toilets stand completely independent of the wall, eliminating the need for a wall structure. Additionally, the toilets are easy to clean.

Speaking about the Enware basins, Woolhouse says they were able to install them without problems.

IFO bathroom and toilet products from Enware Australia installed at the Albany Health Campus included the IFO freestanding toilet, IFO hospital basin with strainer waste valve, IFO Sign Basin Compact 500 featuring a reverse shape washbowl, IFO Cera Basin 600 for clinical scrub use, IFO Cera Shroud 600 basin shroud for positioning under the lip of the Cera Basin 600, and the IFO Sign Basin Compact 770 with right or left positioned bowl.
