The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) will be held in July this year at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), where it will be co-located with leading interiors event Decor + Design.

Chris May, Exhibition Manager at exhibition organiser Informa Australia, explains that the Australian International Furniture Fair is moving to Melbourne this year after 14 years in Sydney. AIFF draws visitors from the design and retail industry for reflecting current buying trends and innovations in the Australian and international furniture industries.

One of the highlights of the event will be the International Seminar Series, known for playing host to acclaimed authorities in design. Focussed on trend forecasting, the seminar series will include leading design thinkers and business professionals from around the world such as Victoria Redshaw (UK), the Founder and Lead Trend Forecaster at Scarlet Opus, and Jason Grant (AUS), the Sydney-based Interiors Stylist, Author and Lifestyle Blogger.

Vivid, which will also be held as part of the July design exhibition, is a prominent Australian design and innovation competition open to emerging designers and design students with awards given across Student, Concept, Commercial, Lighting and Green categories.

Trend Tours, to be hosted by Scarlet Opus, is a new daily initiative at the event and will allow visitors to see the show through a trend forecaster’s eyes and provide valuable insights into 2015 and 2016 trends.

DESIGN: Bazaar is a new installation within Decor+Design, aimed at accommodating small studios who are producing micro production runs with original design work across home interior products, ceramics, lighting, furniture and surface artists. DESIGN: Bazaar presents a platform for small studios to participate in a high profile global design event and be exposed to a large trade and retailer audience.

Wall St is another unique platform for textile designers and surface artists, seeking to show large format visuals and original bespoke work.

The Australian International Furniture Fair will be held 16 -19 July 2015 at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, along with Decor+Design Sydney 2015.
