The Australian Furniture Association (AFA) presents the new look Furnitex Connect exhibition this July in Melbourne.
AFA worked with Expertise Events to revitalise Furnitex, its cornerstone industry event and will present the redesigned format, Furnitex Connect next month at the historical Royal Exhibition Buildings in Carlton, Melbourne. AFA members, the entire supply chain, businesses and Industry Education providers will come together at Furnitex Connect, which will be held from 9th July to 12th July.
A specially designated ‘Professional Development Corner’ will function as a hub for professional and career development resources, networking and advice for the exhibition and the National Furniture Industry Training Conference attendees.
AFA encourages educational institutions to exhibit at Furnitex Connect to promote their courses and offer career advice to attendees. Students can also participate in the ACE Australian Contemporary Emerging design competition, which supports up and coming designers. Entries in the design competition will be showcased as a feature display at the event, with the students also getting an opportunity to attend the Australia Furniture Industry Awards evening.
The reimagined Furnitex Connect will see attendees network with their peers in a bid to increase their professionalism through a specific industry-developed education program. The AFA is working with Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA) to develop conference sessions aimed at upskilling the industry.
AFA says Furnitex Connect also provides a platform for industry leaders to exhibit the latest products and trends representing the entire furnishing offering including lighting, floor coverings and design elements. Attendees will get an opportunity to stay abreast of the latest developments in the furniture and furnishing design field.
Cosentino, the International Magician of the Year will be appearing at Furnitex Connect as a special guest of Frank Audrey Gus (Stand 1128) between 1:00pm and 2:30pm, Saturday, 11th July.
