Located in the heart of Perth’s cultural centre, the WA Museum Boola Bardip is a statement in architectural excellence and innovation. It is contemporary addition to the existing heritagelisted building, creating a grand entrance to the civic space that integrates classic and modern architecture.
The project required a lightweight building envelope that could be installed quickly, but would also be aesthetically appealing and integrate well with the existing heritage structures. Kingspan was able to provide a complete building envelope solution, increasing the speed of build compared to traditional built-up systems.
Given the significant cantilever over the existing heritage building, lightweight construction was of significant importance, as well as air tightness and thermal efficiency. A combination of Kingspan Insulated Panel façade systems were used to create a bespoke, project specific and engineered, architectural solution.
