Lightweight construction specialists Empower Construction supplied and installed Hebel Power Panels for Ichijo Technology Homes.
Ichijo Technology Homes decided to incorporate Hebel Power Panels in their home designs to give their customers more options in energy saving that could help achieve a minimum of 7 Star energy rating. Ichijo was impressed with Hebel’s energy efficiency, acoustic capability and construction efficiency.
Ichijo’s Construction Manager Brian Willis contacted Ryan Steyn of Empower Construction about supplying and installing the Hebel Power Panels. Ichijo specified the required dimensions and also sought a thicker wall than the Hebel standard to achieve a higher energy efficient rating.
Empower was able to customise a system of installation, and have it approved by CSR, the manufacturer of Hebel Power Panels. Thicker gauge battens were used, allowing Ichijo to achieve the desired wall thickness without voiding the manufacturer’s warranty.
Ichijo also wanted to create a larger window reveal to accommodate shutters or window furnishings. Empower Construction’s method of installing the Hebel panels enabled them to meet this requirement; Empower was also able to provide a complete end-to-end solution including the supply of Hebel Power Panels, along with installation, rendering and painting services.
Mr Willis was very pleased with the Hebel products, the customised solution and the quality of the installation.
Mr Willis observes that a Hebel Power Panel measuring 600 x 2800 mm replaces 95 bricks, which would allow Ichijo to complete projects faster, resulting in multiple benefits for the project, including reducing the length of time the building could be affected by weather.
Mr Willis adds that there is a high level of interest in the homes, which is translating into strong sales for the new designs.
