Bushfire compliant screening from Crimsafe Security Systems was specified for the Ranger accommodation upgrade project at Fish River Station in the Northern Territory.
Located in the extremely tough environment of the Northern Territory (NT) outback, Fish River Station presented a unique set of challenges to the Design Construct team from the School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia (UniSA) as well as Crimsafe Authorised Licensee Stan Bond Screen & Shade Solutions.
The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation aimed to restore and upgrade the existing Ranger accommodation, preserving original features where possible, but designing new features to improve the living conditions of the Rangers.
Crimsafe bushfire compliant screens were specified by UniSA’s Design Construct team due to the product’s suitability for the extreme climatic conditions of the NT outback. The versatile screens not only provide class-leading protection against bushfires and insects but also support passive design principles by allowing airflow through the structure to reduce any need for air conditioning while keeping the Rangers and their belongings safe.
Stan Bond fabricated, delivered and installed all the screens in collaboration with the Design Construct team. Each screen was fabricated to a specific measurement by Stan Bond, before being delivered to the remote site and installed by the UniSA students and the Rangers.
