Richard Parkes is the National Architectural Specification Manager for Australian-owned aluminium building product manufacturer, DECO Australia. Richard has worked in the Architecture and Design sector for over 20 years, specialising in high-quality products.

Richard is passionate about design and sustainability and understands the pressures on architects and designers when it comes to architectural specification. From sustainable materials and energy-efficient production to durability and longevity, Richard uses his expertise to help architects source the best solutions to their design challenges.

Since 2019, Richard has been working with architects to help achieve design visions through the support of DECO’s range of building systems and finishes. Part of his day-to-day role is to help educate the architectural community on the benefits of building with aluminium and understanding the importance of selecting the right finishes for durability, low-maintenance, and overall aesthetic.

Richard Hamber, General Manager, DECO Australia

Richard Hamber is the General Manager of Australian-owned aluminium building product manufacturer, DECO Australia. Richard has a degree in Industrial Design and was formally DECO’s Research & Development Manager, specialising in product design, testing and development.

Richard previously held roles at the Australian Window Association, which included the management of the Window Energy Rating Scheme, development of energy efficiency tools, assessing changes to energy efficiency compliance and working on sustainability related projects.

A graduate of the Standard’s Australia ‘Young Leaders Program’, Richard has also participated in numerous national and international bodies including Qualicoat, the Australian Institute of Surface Finishing, and Environmental Product Declarations.
